Dying to Know: Ram Dass & Timothy Leary - Official Trailer #1

In the early 1960s, two conventional Harvard professors began probing the edges of consciousness. Over the next five decades, the two greatly impact modern thought, Timothy Leary, as a counter-cultural legend and Richard Alpert as Ram Dass, a spiritual teacher.
Gay Dillingham’s film, narrated by Robert Redford, offers an intimate portrait of an epic friendship, through life and into the next realm. (U.S. 2014, 95 minutes)

Pioneers in the study of consciousness...
They were professors at Harvard University at the time when it became illegal (outside of military experiments and the Inteligence agencies) to continue to study the effects of LSD...
Leary refused to discontinue his research and was asked to leave.
His colleagues Richard Alpbert (who later became knows as Ram Dass after his time in India with Neem Karoli Baba) and Ralph Metzner both left Harvard with him in a courageous demonstration of solidarity.

Timothy Leary is known for - among other things - revolutionary slogans such as "Question authority. Think for yourself", and "Turn on, tune in, drop out."
